At Pause Studio, we aim to provide one of the most relaxing infrared sauna experiences in West Hollywood. We understand that uncertainty could cause anxiety for clients who have never undergone sweat therapy before, which is why we compiled a helpful list of frequently asked questions below. Continue reading to find answers to common infrared sauna questions.

  • An infrared sauna is a type of heat therapy that uses light to create heat. Infrared waves penetrate the skin and cause your body to sweat, releasing toxins in the process. Our saunas are completely safe and come with a variety of health benefits, such as improved circulation, detoxification, and weight loss.

    Infrared saunas are completely safe to use. In fact, they are a safer alternative to the vast majority of traditional saunas. A conventional sauna heats air that is then used to heat your body, but it will not penetrate your skin. In contrast, infrared sauna therapies create heat via deep wavelengths that permeate the soft tissue in your body. This provides cellular-level benefits, including detoxification, purification, and relaxation.

  • Pause Studio currently offers sweat sessions lasting for 60 minutes, with additional options for 90 minutes. However, the amount of time you spend in our sauna will depend on your personal tolerance, needs, and preferences. We generally recommend starting with shorter sessions and gradually working your way up to longer stays.

    No matter how long you plan on staying in an infrared sauna, we recommend intense hydration before, during, and after your time with us. Proper hydration will optimize your final results, and prevent any headaches from occurring. We also recommend eating a light snack about an hour before your scheduled sweat therapy appointment. This will ensure that you don't feel uncomfortable or nauseous while in the sauna.

  • We understand that many people feel uncomfortable sweating in front of others, which is why we ensure that all of our clients have their own space to relax and rejuvenate. All of our infrared sauna rooms are private, and perfectly adapted to meet your needs. We thoroughly clean each of our infrared saunas with non-toxic cleaning supplies. Because infrared light already kills 99% of surface germs, you can feel comfortable that your sauna is clean, scrubbed, and sanitized.

    Since infrared saunas at Pause Studio are 100% private, clients have the option to choose the clothes in which they sweat. We recommend relaxing in the nude, but bathing suits are also acceptable. Since you will be sweating, it's important to choose something light and airy. You may also want to bring a change of clothes so that you can feel fresh and clean after your sweat session.

  • The frequency with which you should use an infrared sauna depends on your personal goals and needs. However, we generally recommend using our saunas at least once a week to see optimal results. If you are looking to lose weight, we suggest using our sauna twice a week. Many of our clients find that they sweat much more after their first few sessions, and start feeling relaxed and rejuvenated after the first month. The more you use the infrared sauna, the faster you will see significant changes.
